Field reference

12 places a
leak hides.

Compressed air leaks aren't random: they cluster at connection points, moving parts, and anywhere a seal can wear. Here's what a full scan actually checks.

01
Couplings
Quick-connect and threaded couplings between hose sections wear at the seal over time.
02
Hoses
Flex points and abrasion points on rubber and PU hose runs are common failure spots.
03
Tubes
Rigid and semi-rigid tubing runs, especially at bends and support clamps.
04
Fittings
Push-to-connect and barbed fittings where a seal can loosen or degrade.
05
Threaded pipe joints
Thread sealant breaks down over years of vibration and thermal cycling.
06
Quick disconnects
High-cycle disconnect points on tool stations wear faster than static joints.
07
FRLs
Filter-regulator-lubricator combination units: seals and bowls are common leak points.
08
Condensate traps
Auto-drain traps that stick open bleed air continuously, often unnoticed.
09
Valves
Ball, ISO, and ancillary valves: packing and seat wear cause slow leaks.
10
Flanges
Gasketed flange joints on mains and headers, especially after re-torquing.
11
Packings
Shaft and stem packing on valves and cylinders wears gradually with cycling.
12
Airlines & holding tanks
Overhead mains, drop legs, and pneumatic holding tanks, often the hardest to reach without an imager.
Why it adds up

One site rarely has one leak

A well-maintained system keeps leakage under about 10% of total output, but an unmanaged site can lose 20–30% of its compressed air capacity across dozens of small leaks like these, most of them at the connection points above. It's rarely one big leak costing the money. It's twelve small ones nobody's looked at.
